There is now an app to save the day! Killswitch was launched on Valentines Day this year and will assist with mending even the most broken heart. We all have those photos on facebook that we dread sorting through and deleting one by one so Killswitch is here to save the day and is only 0.99c on the Apple App Store..Money well spent!

 

The app will go through your facebook and discreetly remove pictures, videos, wall posts and of course those loved up status updates from the times that you believed he was ‘The One’.

 

Still a little uncertain if you are ready for that step? Don’t stress…all photos are saved to a private album on facebook so if you do reconcile, then you can always re-add the photos and its smiles all round but for now, it’s a quick way to rip that bandaid off.

 

Catch? You must be friends with your ex to do it… It’s kind of a big catch…

 

Another awesome app that EVERYONE (boys and girls) should download is called ‘Drunk Dial NO! Block Mistakes’.

 

I love this App! I would love to download this on to A LOT of people’s phones; you know the type of people who sneak off to the bathroom to call their lovers on a ‘girls/boys night only’ (okay so that’s me..) or even those girls who you know are coming on too keen to a guy and they just need to cease contact for at least 24 hours (in fact not just girls, boys can come on pretty keen too!) well this App is designed to block particular contacts for a certain amount of time, you can choose just one hour (that’s if you are trying to force yourself not to reply to a text too quickly so you come across all cool and shit) or 48 hours (that could perhaps be a ‘bride to be’ going out on a hens night and she isn’t aloud to contact her groom). This app is a must have on all devices and guess what? It’s only 0.99c..go for it ladies and gents

Lust have it... August box x

Finally, a box I LOVE from Lust Have It... The August box was full of delight.  My favourite product being a toss up between the Revlon Photoready Skinlights and the Sinful Colors nail polish (a much better color then a cacky green one I once received). 

The texture of the Revlon photoready skinlights is remarkable and a big step forward in comparison to Revlon's last skin lightning products! Remember those twisty stick things!? This new formula blends in to your makeup evenly and effortlessly, it gives a hint of shimmer and it is perfect to use under your eyebrows or on the top of your cheek bones for that 'glow' instead of the drag queen finish that many others on the market leave you looking like! This is a must have product, even if you have never used something like this before, once you will buy it you won't be able to remember where you were without it!

As I mentioned earlier, lust have it is FINALLY sending a colour of nail polish I like in their boxes!! I haven't had an opportunity to leave it on for longer then a few days yet, however it seemed to stay on reasonably well... I don't really ever expect much durability from nail polish though, as long as it dries quick ( which this has no different drying time then OPI) and it stays on for the hot date that I intend it to stay on for.

 

I wish I had received this box before my visit to bali a few weeks back, the mineral spray and body balm from La Roche-Posay would have been perfect for my skin after the dehydration that occurs due to the lack of moisture in a pressurized aircraft on a long flight. I love applying a mineral spray to the face once I have landed, it just gives you a 'fresh' feeling again..

KMS add volume sample ill probably never use, my hair is incredibly thick as it is, however it is still a good size to give to a friend to try out! 

The rest of the samples were just the standard 'one application only' samples that I don't really care that much for.

Ultimately for AUS $19.95, I am pretty impressed considering the revlon product sells for $29.95 itself!!

Roaccutane, thinking of trying it?

Thinking of trying Roaccutane? I have been on this medication twice in my life as I suffered from severe acne in my teens, which unfortunately found its way back to me in to my twenties!

The media that surrounds this drug is daunting, to say the least, and of course my mum wanted it to be our last resort, so after numerous (and expensive) trips to beauty therapists (which left me with a skin care cabinet to boot) and naturopaths (who gave me more herbs then you would find in an hippies garden) I finally went to a doctor who referred me straight to the dermatologist.

My acne was so severe that even sitting on a wooden chair was painful. I had cysts the size of 10 cent pieces all the way down my back, arms and chest. I was so embarrassed about the way I looked that I refused to do swimming classes at school and I had convinced my P.E teacher that I had a rare condition where little miss red riding hood was always visiting me (my period) and water was just out of the question! I was bullied and called ‘pizza face’ more times then I care to remember and when it came to wearing casual clothes, I would always be in Polo’s as a singlet would only show off my red, swollen, yellowish lumps (sorry to all those eating whilst reading this). The one comment I remember the most was a girl said to me, ‘what do you use on your skin?’ and with excitement I responded with the current skin care regime I was using, as I thought she had noticed the improvement in my skin, until I received her response: ‘Good, I now know never to use that then’ …girls can be so cruel.

Roaccutane changed my life, I know they say it causes depression, monster babies and dry skin; however I was already depressed, I wasn’t in a position to be considering babies at 16 yrs of age and dry skin was the least of my problems! To be safe, when I started the medication my mum teamed me up with a psychologist (who I always booked appointments with during maths class) and just having someone I could talk to who wasn’t a family member really helped and I don’t believe I suffered from depression whilst on the drug as my skin was improving so quickly that I started to enjoy life …and looking in the mirror.

At the end of my medication course, my skin was amazing. I still have scars now (8 years later) and I wish I had started the medication earlier, however I understand how scared my parents were with putting me on such a strong dose of medication, especially when I was living so far away at boarding school where they couldn’t monitor me.

Ultimately though, I am thankful for my past. After going through all the pain of bullying and insecurity it taught me how to be more compassionate to others. I studied Beauty Therapy in 2007 and I have since educated many young teens about the use of skin care and telling them to go see a doctor when they needed to, unlike the beauty therapists I had, who would just sell me more and more products when they knew deep down that the acne I had needed to be treated internally as it was so severe.  Just so you know, whenever a beauty therapist sells a product, she gets commission.. this means I probably paid for my beauty therapists house…

The main message I want to get through to you all is don’t be afraid to see a dermatologist and discuss Roaccutane, don’t be mislead by all the negative media as each case is different and you need professional advice that is tailored to your skin.

Lil Miss Ava

Here it goes... my first real blog.. I'm 25 years old and living in the beautiful Darwin, Australia. Prior to here I worked in Melbourne as a trainer and assessor in a beauty therapy college.. The reason I moved from Melbourne to Darwin? I needed to escape what I was becoming. 

My kitten is my sanity although, when I need her the most she would rather chase her tail around.. or eat..I never thought I was a cat person but after experiencing some personal battles earlier this year, I realized its nice to have a listener to come home to and I love that she doesn't talk back.. 

I adopted her from the Darwin Animal Rescue group as she was found dumped behind a pub. Ava was tiny and skinny when I received her and now she is such a princess, infact so much so that you would honestly believe she is some form of descendent from the gods!

I hope you all fall in love with her like I did..
